The beginning

This is all new to me so here we go. I just had a book of mine published as an e-reader by Smashwords entitled A God of Foreign Lands. A quick description of the story:


15 Egyptian scrolls with an ancient secret locked inside inexplicitly connect two men separated in time by 60 years and distance by half a world.  Discovered during the battle for El Alamein by a former archeologist, Lieutenant Reginald Billings RAF, who survives the Germans only to finds himself engaged in a battle of wits with a mysterious cult not only for possession of the scrolls but for his very life.

As to other matters. I am originally from Southwestern Pennsylvania, about thirty miles south of Pittsburgh. But, since my daughter moved to Florida along with her husband and two children. My wife, Cheryl, and I decided to follow. We live in Lakewood Ranch which is not far for Bradenton Florida. Interesting enough the Pittsburgh Pirates have their training facilities not far from where we live, which is ironic since we lived about ten miles away from the Steelers training camp in PA.

As to hobbies, I love to sail, swim and read. Living near the beach allows me to do all three, although not all three at once, unless there is a serious problem with the boat. When it comes to what I read, I am one of those people that likes just about anything, as long as it is well written. Just finished a terrific book entitled
A Discovery of Witches. It is a terrific read. Others I fell in love with include 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, and Christopher Moore's Lamb.

Hope this gives you a little information about myself, and since I was able to get this far without blowing up my computer I'll consider this secession a success.
